Significantly, it aims to bring together African-Australians in Victoria. Basically those, who trace their genealogy mainly from various African countries. Moreover, one among its many objectives is to address issues that impact on their settlement in Australia.
1998 is the year of ACFA establishment. The purpose was to provide a forum for people to deal with common issues of settlement. ACFA is an Incorporated Body registered under the Associations Incorporations Act 1984.
All in all, ACFA services include assistance for Africans settling in Australia, activities for African Australians and groups for women, youth and children.
