Rhythm Culture

Rhythm Culture brings West African drumming, dancing, music and culture to Queensland. Our team provides performances, workshops and classes for children, youth, adults, organizations, companies, councils and schools.

Rhythm Culture offers regular weekly drumming and dancing classes, team building workshops, disability and youth workshops, performances, Christmas functions, school & holiday programs, wedding entertainment, private tuition and a wide range of West African instruments.

In fact, our DRUM SING DANCE Kindergarten workshops have been voted #6 most popular kids activity on the Sunshine Coast. Moreover, we have delivered our shows to schools and kindergartens all over South East QLD.

Creating a hub for live music, classes and local events, we are a community for everyone. If you like to drum, sing or dance, we certainly want to hear from you!

Our mission is to bring fun, joy, movement and the love of rhythm to as many people as possible through the celebration of West African music. All of our classes, workshops and performances are based on traditional rhythms and our teachers are actively studying, training and immersed in West African culture and rhythm.

All rhythms, ensembles and dances we keep to their original structure as much as possible and it is through this custom and ongoing immersion that we remain as close to African culture as possible. We always include story and song  in the lessons to highlight the meanings of the rhythms and their purpose.
